'Beautiful Gate'- that's the name of the centre who organized the "Let Love Grows Campaign- Knowing Love (Part 1)" at the Summit Shopping Complex USJ on the 6th & 7th August, which was launced by Dr. Ng Yen Yen on July 11th recently!!! I was so fortunate to be there as a volunteer on both days from 9 a.m. - 12 midnight and reached home about 1 a.m.
Yo!!! I can say that the experience I have gotten during the whole event was tremendously satisfying although I felt a little tired as the day reaches its peak! I would say that I didn't feel any sense of regret but I would rather say that I felt comfortable looking after the disabled people and it has actually made me realized that disabled people can be easily approached and they are so-called friendly people. People might say that I'm a bit silly to help these people and it's a waste of time to get myself involved in this event but I will stand firm on my own stand, my passion for the less fortunate, the sick , the disabled and those that is crying out there for help!! I will do whatever it takes to help these people! I will do whatever I can with the limited time I have.
I would strongly promotes awareness among our society to have a different point of view towards these people... They are not aliens that came from outer space but they are just normal human beings like us all! We should respect them more and show them our love and care from day to day! They need a lot of encouragement and actually... when I was there, I felt that they nonetheless thought me to appreciate life more, to appreciate what I have today and last but not least, they have taught me that I should move forward (stay strong!) as they also have the courage to move on although with their discomfort and their inconvenience to move around! In short, I should be thankful with what I have now and shouldn't complaint what is less desired!
And you guys know what? I was chosen as the judge for the drawing and coloring contest on that Saturday!! What a joke, isn't it? But I did a great job in choosing the winners, I guess although I had a hard time distinguishing who should won the 1st! Children nowadays are very good artist, at this tender & vulnerable age! And parents nowadays would always want their children to excel well in every aspects of their life, no matter what it takes unlike parents in the past! I'm wondering how the parents have the money to really support their children for classes, including art classes (if they did send their children there). Not only that, I was also helping out with the decorations, ushering during the opening ceremony & with so many other things!!!! And, I was the announcer cum translater for the announcement after the drawing n coloring contest!! It's my first time standing in front of the public (a big crowd), holding the mic, in the shopping centre!!! I still couldn't believe that I did that!!! And can you believe that I actually translate the announcement from mandarin to english ??? Unbelievable!! It seems like a dream to me now! Haha :D
The second part of this event will be in mid of next month!!! Looking forward and just praying hard that my mid term exams will end before the day!!!!
Gotta pen-off for now!! :)
